2026 UW Agronomy and Soils Field Day Hosts 150+
The 2026 UW–Madison Agronomy and Soils Field Day on Aug. 27, 2026, in Arlington, Wis., welcomed over 150 farmers, consultants, researchers, and community members for an engaging day of in-field research highlights and a special listening session with USDA’s chief economist and deputy undersecretary for farm production and conservation.
Extension Staff Spotlight: Helping Wisconsin Farmers Implement Conservation Cropping and Sustainable Agriculture Practices
Laura Paletta serves as a Regional Outreach Specialist with the University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension’s Agriculture Water Quality Program, supporting farmers, agricultural professionals, and conservation partners across northeast Wisconsin. Laura focuses on helping agricultural communities address water quality challenges through research-based education, on-farm outreach, and practical nutrient management solutions.

Extension’s Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources & Community Development creates a bridge between Wisconsin’s ag and the environmental resources with the people that use them. We help producers, farmers, and businesses build stronger and more diverse farm and food systems. With communities and regions, we work hand-in-hand to support land and water resource needs.
