Support Our Programs
Division of Extension
UW-Madison Extension’s outreach creates key connection points for families, communities, businesses, non-profit organizations, government, and more. We support local volunteers and leaders to take action and serve as role models in their communities, and we make sure Wisconsinites have the latest research, best practices, and educational opportunities.
Upham Woods
UW-Madison Extension’s Upham Woods provides educational opportunities to youth, youth leaders, and adults through programs that study both the natural and cultural history of Wisconsin. Positive experiences in the outdoors lead to youth building a foundation of resiliency and supports adults’ increased mental well-being.
StrongBodies
UW-Madison Extension’s StrongBodies program equips people of all ages to have the physical fitness and social connections to live stronger, healthier lives. We provide the knowledge, inspiration, access to programs, resources, and ongoing support for leader volunteers across the state to manage local clubs and classes.
Master Naturalist
UW-Madison Extension Master Naturalist volunteers make a difference for Wisconsin’s natural world, and so can you! Help boost these efforts and ensure expanded learning opportunities across the state. Your gift will help to create new trainings, both online and in-person.
Water Action Volunteers
UW-Madison Extension’s Water Action Volunteers help support the 84,000 miles of rivers and streams flowing across Wisconsin, playing a critical role helping to collect stream health data that is used to protect and preserve our waters.
Literacy Link
UW-Madison Extension’s Literacy Link connects children and parents in justice-involved families through reading and other literacy experiences. Keeping kids connected to their parents and learning together can help them thrive despite the stress of being separated from their incarcerated loved one.
Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey
For 125 years, UW-Madison Extension’s Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey has provided essential scientific information about our state’s geology, water resources, and mineral resources. You can support our ongoing research around efforts, new digitization projects to make our data more widely accessible, and student internships. This year in celebrating our 125th anniversary, your support of $10 or more will get you a thank you gift!
